Hi Everyone! This has been a very busy week of all things card related. Not only did I participate in the Paper Arts Challenge, prepare my card for the upcoming July 9th blog hop, and make 30 cards for my first ever card swap (I am running out of card related firsts as I am dipping my feet deeper in the pool), but I also had a few last minute card making requests thrown in the mix. Phew! Believe it or not I accomplished everything before I left on vacation.
I headed out yesterday afternoon to Denver to spend a week hanging out with one of my most favorite people in this world, my daughter Kate. That means that I had to go full throttle at work and home to leave things in great shape for those covering me at my desk and home. The good news is that I was able to prepare several of my challenge cards to share with you over the coming week!
The card I've chosen to share today is one of the swap cards. The challenge was to create a special occasion card using black and one 'In Color." There was also an option to include either white or vanilla. Using only current Stampin' Up! products the card had to be at least 4 layers with the use of at least one embellishment. The special occasion could be Birthday, Graduation, Wedding, Retirement - I chose to use a wedding card pattern that I demonstrated in a recent class which got great reviews, and I opted to spruce it up just a tad. I chose Strawberry Slush as the 'In Color.' The little "strawberry" heart was just the right touch to tie the groom and bride hearts together. The juxtaposition of the splash of color against the black and white card create a dramatic looking card that any bride would love to receive.
