This week’s challenge is a sketch challenge. Click here to see the design teams cards and those submitted by other crafters. I did a little shopping on my lunch break this past week and my purchases dictated my design.
It definitely makes me think of a hot summer day. Pretty much anywhere you are in the US this week it is hot, hot, HOT! I started with a cobbler cherry base and layered it with a 5” x 4” piece of early espresso. I then stamped a 4 ¾” x 3 ¾” very vanilla with random dark and light (stamped off) tones of a bicycle. I chose my banners from both washi paper and ribbon and adhered with glue. That is the item that sent me to the crafting store in the first place! I then cut out an early espresso die cut of the unicycle. I used the magnetic platform to keep it in place and wax paper to help pop out the paper easier. By inserting the wax paper between the die and the cardstock it really made the paper pop out of the die easier! The magnetic platform also simplified the die cutting process and I am thrilled that I made the purchase!
There was an eye-opening discussion recently on my fellow stamper’s facebook page regarding glue vs. adhesive. I jumped on the bandwagon and tried glue for myself. My opinion is that I am impressed with how easy it is to use and how well it adheres items. Sold! I added a sentiment and a few pearls and my Thank You card is ready to go!
